Special Collections

The Special Collections are groups of artifacts that can be placed in a display case in your school or borrowed for use in the classroom. A list of the collections is shown in the Special Collection Index below. A schedule showing the collections assigned to each school is also attached.
When your school uses a Special Collection, the person responsible for borrowing it must make sure that every item listed as belonging to the group, including books, video tapes and audio tapes are present and accounted for before the collection is returned or sent to another school.
Please also note that TIC TOC Theatre & Art maintains a membership with The Newark Museum Educational Loan Collection. Artifacts, reproductions, and models from historical periods and geographical areas are available for pick-up in Newark. Items may be borrowed for two weeks (ordered at least a week in advance) for docent presentations.
These collections are rotated (by type of collection) among the elementary schools or are in storage in the Board of Education building in Ridgewood. The rotation schedule listed by school is noted below.

Special Collections will be available only upon request during the last two rotations. If you have any questions or wish to request a collection, please call Anita Srivastana at 201-445-0380 or Elisa Hirsch at 201-797-1642.
